On one hand, we have PMP that targets professional project managers who have enough experience under their belt and are ready to take the next step in their careers. Project management focuses on one project at a time and as a project manager is to ensure that the project is completed on time without any issues.

On the other hand, we have the PgMP course which focuses on program managers and their ability to bring together a host of different projects which are tied together to successful completion. Under Program management, there are multiple projects being undertaken as part of the same program. Multiple projects are being undertaken simultaneously which are only relevant when being done within the project with their being no relevance to them if they are removed from the program.

Both these programs are available to project managers and choosing anyone can help you take a different path in your career as a project manager.
